Designing Business Cards in 2022: A Guide

As much as you would like to believe that the world of business has gone digital, some traditional values continue to maintain their effect. For instance, business cards have been and remain a striking symbol for a business. So if you haven’t already, contact a quick business card printing service so you can create a brand your customers can connect with. But, do you not know where to start? Here are a few ideas:

Keep It Minimal

If you are undertaking a last-minute quick business card printing project, it’s best to keep it minimal. Anyway, business cards these days should look classy, but don’t overcrowd your card with designs. It should be a reminder of your brand, not a whole write-up or information card on what you do.

Say Less and Do More

Contrary to traditional habits, it’s not necessary anymore to provide all contact information through your business card; just stick to the basics. You can get away with Instagram handles, a contact number and an email. And if you don’t have an Instagram, don’t include it. You don’t need to provide your address either, as anyone looking to get in touch with you can give you a call or drop you a text and get more information.

A jam-packed business card, which target customers have to scour through to get the right info, will only set you back. Striking minimal features are more impactful; wise men speak less, remember?

Set Your Brand

Your business card might be the first thing a potential client sees, and it might be the medium through which they discover your business. So, that’s why you must treat your business card as a brand ambassador. You can speak volumes through your business card.

For instance, how about using a Twitter profile template if you’re a social media influencer? It clearly indicates the field you’re in and makes you much more interesting. And if you sell perfume, make sure to add an element of scent and let your customer experience your brand through your card.

Explore Shapes and Sizes

Gone are the days when people used the standard 3.5″ x 2″ business card. Yes, they were convenient to fit into wallets, but you don’t want your card to be forgotten like that. Instead, experiment with different sizes and shapes. And if you’re a cloud hosting platform, how about a cloud-shaped business card? Also, if you make miniatures, make a miniature card, and you and your client will laugh at how cute and ironic the miniature is.

Think in Colour

Stop designing on white backgrounds, and try a different colour that pops out so that even if a customer has left your card on a table with piles of documents, they can still quickly spot it. As such, you may use colours that marketers use to divert attention, but don’t overdo it. If your brand represents peace and spirituality, you’re better off with a soothing neutral colour. Likewise, every single element on your card must be brand-aligned.

Side Note: Black business cards look ravishing, classy, minimal, and yet bold.

Try Out Different Materials

Don’t stop there! Did you know you could also experiment with paper with quick business card printing? You can try textured paper, cotton paper, kraft paper, duplex and even plastic! Also, do you want to brand yourself as an eco-friendly company? If that’s the case, you may use recycled paper! You can also add fine elements with UV spotting, laser cutting, embossing, and foiling your business card.

You can also create an experience with your business card. For instance, if you’re a leather company, add a strip of leather to your card; it’ll be the most unique and creative card that your customers will lay their eyes on!
